My son Dylan (who is 15 years old) started taking guitar lessons from Graeme Lees a little over a year ago,at first I was a bit skeptical as it was via Skype etc. Now I can't speak highly enough about the experience Dylan has had.
Graeme is not one of those "watch me shred" kind of guitar teachers. He teaches Dylan how to play the guitar... and all the stuff that comes along with it. Music theory, improvisation, reading music (if you want to) and all the exercises that help you do it all better. Its been "cool" from day one for Dylan.
But the best part about these lessons, for Dylan, is how patient Graeme is. Some things take time to get (or get better at,) and with Graeme, Dylan hasn't ever felt rushed or pressured. Graeme's personal attention and vast knowledge of the guitar and music theory have improved Dylan's playing ability dramatically, in just a couple of months
"If you are thinking about learning guitar, Graeme Lees should be your first call!"

Initially I went to Graeme, because I needed a guitar teacher to take me through my music as a subject syllabus from Gr 10 to matric. Up until then
I hadn't done any 'grades' in guitar and my theoretical knowledge was lacking. Graeme was the guy to take me through it as quick and thorough
as possible.
What I learnt ,not only from just the pieces and technical exercises in the Trinity grades, was also from things that we worked on beyond that. It was
to open my mind a little more in terms of the music that I play and appreciate. It was always cool to trade music and get influenced by new
things and then talk about the new influences and how I'm going to apply it my own way.
All in all I must say that will never regret what I took out of the lessons with Graeme, because it was all positive and influential in my playing.

"If you found Graeme, stop your quest for a teacher. His capacity to improvise are absolutely awesome, this capacity is the little plus that makes him a great teacher beside being a very pleasant person.
With his natural improvisation skills he is capable to adapt the lesson(s) to the type of music you like and to your actual skills in order to allow you to progress step by step with something you like to do. Not very often in 45 year I have seen teacher capable to do that.
Learning with Graeme is fun and rewarding. A desperate case like me was capable in a few lessons to listen to sounds and to reproduce them (harmonics, slurring, ...). This made me love the guitar even more and since then I kept on learning, I'm not a desperate case anymore, well a little less ;). Too bad that our lives separated, because if he was around I would still be one of his most fervent students."
